I'm the visual arts teacher at Metro High School in Cedar Rapids, the largest alternative high school in Iowa. I am also one of four teachers pioneering the STEAM Academy at Metro which has launched this year. We are co-teaching in an interdisciplinary project based learning environment using standards referenced grading. 

     My goal as a teacher is to make learning fun and relevant for my students while helping them find their way in a post secondary world. I want more than anything for students to find something they believe in.
